A few years ago, LocalTapiola Group, a Finnish insurance company, observed that although their short- and medium-term planning was done well, their long-term strategy work could be enhanced. The corporation’s leadership and strategic planning department concluded that it was time to start building a foresight system to support strategic decision-making. Futures Platform was identified as a solution that would offer structure to the work and would help encourage participation in foresight.
